This post has details for the North American / EnMasse Dragonette Derby event, starting on February 18th, 2020 and going until March 10th, 2020.
Overview
What's The Event?
It’s a daily login and an event item farming event with a secondary fishing aspect. The prizes include a uniquely colored dragonette pet with either auto loot or auto loot, auto gather, and special storage abilities. You can also use the farmed items at two NPC shops to get regular xp, skill advancement xp, legacy essence, tier 2 (blue) relics and halidom, skill advancement scrolls, event bait, bravery potions, elixirs, EP points, exodor gear enchanting materials, and Eternal Gear tokens. The event goes from Tuesday February 18th to Tuesday March 10th.
Key Rewards and How to Get Them
- Loot pet dragonette by login, farming event items, or RNG from fishing boxes.
- Loot/Gather/Storage dragonette pet by farming event items or RNG from fishing boxes.
- Exodor eternal gear tokens and random enchanting materials by farming event items.

Note
At least one player got a Pet: Apex Dragonette that had Special Storage instead of auto-Loot. It's possible that you get one of the 3 abilities at random instead of getting auto-loot for certain with the non [rare] dragonette. If anyone else gets a dragonette, leave a comment or drop a line to inquiries@hototera.com regarding what ability it has so the right info can be posted!
How to get the Fragments and Orbs?
The <[Event] Pet:Apex Dragonette Fragments> are only obtainable from the daily login post. You get one per day and need 19 to get an auto loot dragon of your choice of color.
The daily post also include 2 mysterious orbs. To get more orbs you’ll have to clear dungeons from Red Refuge as well as the Ace dungeons. The amount of orbs you get will vary depending on difficulty. A partial table is given below:

The orbs drop from the final boss and there’s no limit on how many times you can run the same dungeon and still get orbs. There also might be a base drop + random drop. For example, GV sometimes has 4 + 1 orbs to pickup. Red Refuge seems to have a 0 + 1 orb drop with 0 guaranteed and 1 at random.

The mysterious orbs can be spent at two NPCs located in Velika and Highwatch.
What's In the Shops?
The two NPCs have different shops and amusing flavor text pitting a rivalry between them.
Bibiron - Big Brother’s Shop
Bibiron has items that you can purchase an unlimited number of, except for the Shark Bait, which you can only get 5 of each day. Note that there’s 2 pages to this shop! Most items have durations that last the event duration plus 1 week, except where noted.

Babaron - Little Brother’s Shop
Babaron has items that are account limited for the duration of the event. The regular (auto loot only) and rare (auto loot, gather, and special storage) pets are here. There’s also items for Exodor enchanting materials and Eternal Gear Tokens that you can exchange for Annihilation and Dark Light (tier 3) Exodor gear.

Regarding the Fishing Part of the Event
The fishing aspect of the event is primarily an alternate way to get the dragonette pet. Each day you can get up to 5 shark bite boxes which will give you a total of 50 shark bait. Shark bait must be used at the Murical Fishery and can be used with any fishing rod. There are 3 unique fish types that will be caught with this bait. Those sharks are dismantled into the event loot boxes that match their type.

Warning
The <[Event] Shark That Ate a Golden Box> has a duration of 10 minutes! If you are afk/auto fishing, you have to remember to check periodically so you can dismantle them. Same goes for active fishing if you get caught up in using your bait quickly!

What's the Loot Table on the Boxes?
The boxes are supposed to contain consumables, and pet tickets for the apex and rare apex dragonette. The results so far are given below. Note that the event items 5 days longer than the end of the event.

*keep in mind this is based on observed results so far. The actual loot table settings are unknown. Used approximate for odds on rare dragonette tokens based on what teralore.com has listed for the golden box loot possibilities.
Can I AFK Fish For the Sharks?
It looks like you can. All three fish bring up the regular minigame and at least ordinary and silver shark can be caught with auto/afk fishing. The golden shark minigame is a regular fish, not a BAF, so it looks like it can also be caught with auto/afk fishing.
The sharks give 5, 7, and 10 angler tokens, so the might be based on tier ~4, ~6, and 8 fish. Their minigames are shown below, with fish salad active.

Remember that the golden box shark will expire 10 minutes after being caught!
Which Rod Works Best?
If the Golden shark counts as a BAF then it should be influenced by the BAF modifier. But if it’s a regular fish then the high-grade modifier will matter more. Update 2: The BAF rod looks like a solid better choice for both silver and golden boxes. Go figure. It's probably a good idea to use Fish Salad for the difficulty reduction, just in case you aren't a pro fisher XD. Sample count is in parenthesis.

Is The Event Worth Doing?
If you are logging in regularly, you’re going to get an auto loot pet for free. Just don’t miss any days. You’ll also get up to 40 mysterious orbs, which you can spend in the event NPC shops.
If you need Exodor materials or eternal gear tokens then doing a few dungeons a day will let you get a piece of gear or more materials with relative ease. Farming specifically for the Apex Rare Dragonette is challenging if you only have one character then you’ll have to spend almost every adventure coin you can on runs over the duration of the event. If you have more than one character that can run dungeons then the AC limit won’t impact you as much.
Having a gather pet is pretty useful. You can do neat things like fly from node to node and summon your pet to gather for you, completely bypassing any mobs. They go for an obscene amount on the broker (300k to 400k+) and otherwise you are paying $20 or more in the cash shop to get one. If you craft regularly and want to be able to get gather materials easier, it might be worthwhile to go for the Rare Apex Dragonette. Otherwise, auto-loot is pretty easy to get normally.
Just a heads up; I bought the Dark Apex Dragonette (Blue Quality) and it did not have Auto-Loot when I learned the pet. It had Special Storage even though the tooltip of the pet said it would give Auto-loot.
