TERA Warrior Guides

References and Background

Current guides:

  • The most current source of information on Warrior is the Warrior Discord.
  • The first of the two written guides is The Warrior Bible (Old Testament), by Assazinchen (aka Catalkysma, writer of the Lancer Bible). See note below about updates. (local pdf in case the source is unavailable)
  • Closely related, Assazinchen also released a quick reference version, titled the Warrior Bookmark. (local pdf in case the source is unavailable)
  • The second written guide is Dean's Mini Warrior Guide. This has met a similar fate to Assa's and is no longer updated.

Due to the upcoming Patch 86 removing double CDR on new gear, the introduction of Phys/Magical stats as well as the Warrior Buffs that are also scheduled with this patch, the Warrior Bible will cease to receive any further updates after this point. However, since Console is about to get the Apex Patch , as well as lot the gameplay elements staying largely the same (particularly for players who have not yet reached the new gear), it is likely that I will post a separate, abridged copy of the Bible instead, which will then get all further updates. Either that, or an update to the Warrior Bookmark are the possible outcomes.

Regardless, please be patient, as me and other people willing to help with such an endeavour need to get accustomed to the gameplay changes first.

Thank you for your understanding!

Like other class guides, the old cornerstones are out of date with the recent changes to the crit formula, skill specific changes, and new gear options. But they should provide a solid foundation for most things Warrior.

Old guides:

  • Essential Mana has two guides on Warrior. The first is the Warrior PVE Guide.
  • The second EM guide is the Warrior Tank Guide.
  • There's a bunch of noise when you search in general for TERA Warrior Guide as well and none of them stood out to list here.

The two EM guides are Pre-Apex and outdated at this point so they are more for historical reference.

I'll fill in the rest of the guide gradually but the above links should get you pretty far in the mean time.

Gearing

  • PRE-PATCH 86
  • PATCH 86

Double cooldown on weapon except under short fight circumstances.
Bladedraw damage topline on chest.
Standard rolls on gloves and boots.

Accessories and Crit Cap

Read more in what is a crit cap anyway?

A-Stance, +160
D-Stance, +180 to +210
See quote below:

TL,DR: while there's no real recommendation that can be made based on skill breakdowns, for now, just go as low as you want unless you are a Warrior Tank, in which case you should go for at least +160 (212 total) crit factor. The lowest possible crit-factor in endgame gear, with no stance on, is +86 (assuming you don't make bad CF>Power trades on brooch and belt). This is already above the back-hit scythe cap, and with active A-stance, getting close to the :bw:+:dg: caps of :rob: and :bd:.As for my personal recommendation... run with +150-160 as a DPS, and +180-210 as a Warrior Tank.

Etchings

Weapon / Gloves: Energetic
Armor / Boots: Grounded
Everything else - add Crit Factor or Power as needed
See What Are Etchings and How to Get Them for more information.

Glyphs

Couldn't find any updated glyph pages for the expanded glyph points with level 70. Here's the newest one in the discord from Dean. The only difference between this and the Bible is the backstab cooldown is dropped and DFA endurance added. I'd personally keep the backstab cooldown not for edge generation but for a quick reposition option and backup i-frame.

See How To Get All Your Skill Glyphs for help with acquiring uncommon and rare glyphs.

Reasoning: If you are playing with Double Energetic IV's (which you should be), you should very rarely rely on Backstab for 2 Edge. On every 10 Edge rotation it's possible to consistently build Edge fast enough to catch the cooldown of Scythe or Aerial Scythe without relying on Backstab.

In addition the Grounded DFA Glyph which gives a substantial 25 Endurance for 8 seconds which can definitely save you from boss attacks that don't one shot. You can consistently get over 60% uptime on this Glyph if you integrate DFA as a part of your rotation.

EP Talents

Soon (tm). Check out the bible or poke the discord.

TL;DR, order in which you should go:

Max. Mighty Attack -> Max. Deadly Gamble Force -> Max. Deadly Gamble Extra Force -> Max. Rising Fury Speed -> Max. Charging Slash Reload -> Max. Endurance -> EP damage talents on BD and RoB

Optional: 1 Point into Mighty Phoenix and Evasive Roll Concentration, 1 Point into Cross Parry Vigor/Recharge for D-Stance

Advanced Skills

Read more about Advanced Skills / TalYphs in TERA for help on farming advanced skills items.

66/68/70 - skill buff priority, probably Scythe, Blade Waltz, Combative Strike, but not sure. Search on the discord is broken at the moment.
Level 67 - A-Stance: Rapid Strike, D-Stance: Dueling Scar
Level 69 - A-Stance: Bellicosity, D-Stance: Spirit of Iron

Skill Usage and Rotations

Soon (tm). Check out the bible or poke the discord.

This graphic is in the live google drive document but doesn't transfer to the download. It's a flowchart for a possible boss opening "rotation" as a DPS warrior.

Videos

Soon (tm). Looks like Dean's video is private now so that's a rip. Poke the discord for more videos.
